The spider is a quick melee monster that makes for a great aggressor, due to its fast attack speed and fast speed. It can poison enemies when it stabs an enemy with its front legs. They are an overall superior alternative to the wolf if their special is disregarded. You can unlock the spider after beating 3-10. In Version 1.7, a soulstone is required.
Behavior[]
The Spider will swiftly approach enemies into melee range, then stab them with their front legs. This attack can poison enemies sometimes. Due to their high speed and attack speed, they can easily attack most enemies before the enemy has a chance to finish their attack, allowing the spider to switch lanes to greatly reduce damage taken. Their fast speed also makes them great for dealing with high-priority threats before they reach your main force. Their special can stun an enemy, but due to the web effect not being guaranteed, shouldn't be purely relied on for the stun.
Special[]
In tier 1, their special is called the "Web Shot". When the special is performed, the spidey shoots a web shot, with an infinite projectile range with an accuracy deviation of 10, 0.27s after the special animation began. This special scales off special, has a recovery animation of 0.77s, has a 70% chance to web an enemy for 4s, and AI-controlled spideys will only target enemies with this ability within a range of 200. (30 Souls)
In tier 2, their Web Shot now has an accuracy deviation of 5, and has a 50% chance to web an enemy and deal 5dps for 3s. (40 Souls)
In tier 3, their Web Shot now has a recovery animation of 0.53s, and is now followed by a charge after the special animation is over. This charge does not gain invincibility, as it is technically not part of the special animation, and it increases the movement speed of the spidey by +400% for 0.5s. (50 Souls)
In tier 4, their Web Shot now fires a second web shot, 0.4s after the animation began, their movement speed increase is reduced to +350%, and AI-controlled spideys will only target enemies with this ability within a range of 240. (60 Souls)

Trivia[]
- Spideys are an alternative to wolfy. Oddly, Spideys have a much faster attack speed and more HP than wolfy, yet they are cheaper at 40 gems, and have a shorter cooldown to train compared to the wolfy. It is probably because it needs soulstones to summon it.
- The Blood Widow in Legendary Wars originally had the same attack speed as the Tarantula, but then the frames per second of the animation was increased, bringing the attack speed of the spider more in line with the tier 1 spider. Blood Widows also originally shared their special with the current tier 2 spider, although with a 40% status chance.
- The Spider originally required 2 soulstones to summon.
